Which state government for the first time in 27 years, has on its own extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act for 6 months?

For the first time in 27 years, the Assam govt has on its own extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act for 6 months. Earlier, the Act was always enforced by the central govt. AFSPA has been in force in parts of Assam since 1990. Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act gives military sweeping powers to search & arrest and to open fire if they deem it necessary for maintenance of Public Order.
