In News Assam govt to set up National Centre of Excellence for Badminton Key Points The Assam government will set up a National Centre of Excellence for Badminton with world-class facilities in North Guwahati. The centre will nurture and harness the immense talent and potential of budding badminton players across the country. This centre will be set up in North Guwahati and a Mou to be signed in this regard between the Assam government and the Badminton Association of India for 25 years subject to renewal for further 10 years. The Centre will be set up at the Amingaon Indoor Stadium , boasting a world-class infrastructure, highly experienced national and international coaches and top class support facilities. The operation and management will be handled by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Assam while the technical part will be handled by Badminton Association of India. The Centre of excellence will spot local and national talent from the grassroots and prepare them for the future.
