Where has the central government laid the foundation stone for the construction of two floating jetties?

Key Points The central government has laid the foundation stone for the construction of two floating jetties at Bogibeel and Guijan in Assam. Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MOPSW) and AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal launched various projects for the development of the Bogibeel area near Dibrugarh in Assam. In this regard, the Union Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of two floating jetties at Bogibeel and Guijan. The Union Minister also inaugurated the Bogibeel Riverfront Passenger Jetty. Two floating jetties at Bogibeel in Dibrugarh district and Guizan in Tinsukia district will be constructed as state-of-the-art terminals using state-of-the-art and advanced technology. Both these jetties are being constructed by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) on National Waterway-2 (NW-2), popularly known as the Brahmaputra River. The responsibility of this work has been given to Coastal Consolidated Structures Pvt Ltd on EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract mode. Both the jetties will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 8.25 crore and are to be completed by February 2023. Additional Information Assam is a state in North Eastern India.
