The government has notified a High-Level Committee for implementation of Clause six of the Assam Accord on 6 January 2019. The committee is headed by former IAS officer M.P. Bezbaruah. It will assess the appropriate level of reservation of seats in the Assam Assembly and local bodies for the Assamese people, besides providing employment opportunities.
