Ramesh bought 20 kg of white tea at Rs. 20 per kg and 45 kg of Assam tea at Rs. 40 per kg. The total cost price of 20 kg white tea at Rs. 20 per kg = 20 × 20 = Rs. 400 The total cost price of 45 kg Assam tea at Rs. 40 per kg = 45 × 40 = Rs. 1800 He mixed the two varieties together. Then total cost price of (20 + 45) = 65 kg tea mixture = 400 + 1800 = Rs. 2200 If he sold the mixture at 4 paisa per gram or Rs. 40 per kg ∴ Selling price of 65 kg mixture = 65 × 40 ⇒ Rs. 2600 ∴ Profit = Selling price – Cost price ⇒ Profit = 2600 – 2200 ⇒ Profit = Rs. 400
