Lemru Elephant Reserve is located in Chhattishgarh . It is part of East-Central Landscape (South-West Bengal-Jharkhand - Orissa) elephant range. Project Elephant was started in February 1992 as a centrally sponsored project. The major objective of this project was to assist states having free-ranging populations of wild elephants. It also aimed to ensure long term survival of identified viable populations of elephants in their natural habitats.
