Solution - The correct answer is 2 only. Ramosi peasant revolt 1879 in the Satara area of Maharashtra was an important uprising in the history of the peasant movement in India during British rule. The peasants were against the exploitative land revenue policies of the British as well as British administration, especially after the Deccan famine of 1876-77 which caused hardships to the peasants. So the peasants under the leadership of Vasudev Balwant Phadke revolted against the British. They raised the Ramosi peasant force as well and thought of establishing the Hindu Raj. The British used army to suppress the Revolt. Ramosi peasants also revolted earlier in 1825-26 under the leadership of Chittur Singh.
