Under this scheme, if the marriage is registered then the state government will give each beneficiary bride a fixed 10 grams (one tola) of gold during her marriage. The scheme will cost around Rs 800 crore annually to the state government. The family has to register their marriage under the Special Marriage (Assam) Rules, 1954.
